On specific information of BSF, a suspicious farmer was identified and was further apprehended with the help of Punjab Police from Village – Bharopal, District – Amritsar on Sunday. In this context, an FIR against the suspected person was lodged at the Police Station by BSF.
After establishing identity of the farmer and questioning to him, he revealed that the consignment was hidden ahead of border fence. He was further brought ahead of border fence to the place, where he had hidden the consignment.
(SUBHEAD)The suspected place was identified by apprehended farmer, where he dug the ground and took out 02 packets suspected to be contraband wrapped with yellow colour adhesive tape at about 0645 PM, adjacent to Village – Bharopal, District – Amritsar.
BSF spokesman in Jalandhar said, another nefarious attempt of Pakistan to smuggle contraband item was foiled due to timely efforts of BSF and Punjab Police in Amritsar Sector.
