On 09th June 2023 at around 0130 AM, BSF intercepted movement of suspected drone near Village – Rai, District – Amritsar. As per the laid down drill, BSF troops immediately reacted to intercept the drone.
Meanwhile, the depth deployed Police naka party also joined the BSF party and a joint search Ops was launched in the area. During the search, 01 Big pkt, suspected to be contraband, wrapped in a yellow-coloured adhesive tape along with 01 green colour nylon rope and hook attached with the Pkt was recovered from the farming field on the outskirts of Village – Rear Kakkar, District – Amritsar.
On opening of the big packet, 05 packets narcotics wrapped with yellow colour adhesive tape were found. Gross Weight of 05 packets of heroin – 5.260 Kgs.
Another nefarious attempt of Pakistan to smuggle contraband item foiled due to timely joint efforts of BSF and Punjab Police in Amritsar Sector.
