The police have arrested five members of a robber’s gang in Zira. While divulging details, DSP Zira Palwinder Singh said that the police had received a complaint from one Sandeep Kumar, resident of Village Chakk Pipli in Lohian Khas area of Jalandhar (Rural) yesterday.
“Sandeep was coming to an amusement park at Talwandi Bhai along with his family members on his Swift Dzire car (PB 06 EG 0282) yesterday. When he reached near Village Behak Pachharian, the members of the robber’s gang including Rajan Singh, Manjeet Singh Inder Singh, Sandeep Singh, Jaswant Singh besides others, attacked on their car. The accused took away his car by threatening him with sharp edged weapons and also took away his other belonging”, said DSP.
The DSP said that on the basis of the statement given by the victim, the police booked the accused besides 3-4 unidentified persons. “The police immediately started investigation. Following the inputs, the accused were nabbed and the stolen car was recovered by the police”, said DSP adding that a manhunt has been launched to nab the other accused.
