On the instructions of the DGP Punjab and Director Bureau of Investigation, drugs recovered in Fazilka district were destroyed as per the norms.
Under the supervision of the District Level Drug Disposal Committee, in the presence of Fazilka SSP Avneet Kaur Sidhu, the narcotics recovered in 29 cases of NDPS Act registered in various police stations under District Fazilka were destroyed in village Chanu (Muktsar) at the plant of Sukhbir Agro Limited.
SSP Avneet Kaur Sidhu said that 4.427 kg of heroin in 10 cases, 13 gm smack in 2 cases, 569.650 kg of poppy in 12 cases, 1.100 kg of Ganja in 1 case and 948 intoxicant pills were recovered in 4 cases. All the drugs were destroyed in the fire furnace located in the factory. SP (D) Gurmeet Singh and DSP (D) Sukhwinder Singh were present.
