VIGILANCE BUREAU NABS PRIVATE PERSON RED HANDED ACCEPTING BRIBE OF RS 1500

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing drive against corruption in the state, has apprehended Sukhwinder Singh private person working under Patwari Pooja Yadav in district Faridkot red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 1500/-. 

Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the state VB said the above mentioned accused has been arrested based on a complaint lodged by a resident of Bhan Singh Colony, district Faridkot. 

He further informed that the complainant approached the VB and alleged that the accused Sukhwinder Singh demanded a bribe of Rs 2000/- for executing the mutation of the plot. The complainant had recorded the entire conversation demanding bribe. 

The spokesperson added that after a preliminary enquiry on his complaint the VB team laid a trap during which the accused Sukhwinder Singh was arrested while accepting bribe money from the complainant in presence of two official witnesses. In this regard, a case under prevention of corruption act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Ferozepur and further investigation into this case is under progress.
