In a senaational incident police constable shot dead lady constable and later committed suicide ends his life on Saturday late evening in Ferozepore Cantt.
After this the constable also shot himself. After the information, the police have started further investigation of the matter along with sending both the bodies for postmortem.
The deceased policeman has been identified as Gursewak Singh of village Niranke Syal in the district working as a constable in Ferozepur police line, while the murdered woman police constable Amandeep Kaur was posted at Ferozepur cantonment police station.
According to the information received, Amandeep Kaur was returning home on a scooty after duty at night. On the way, Gursewak Singh, who arrived in a car near Sher Shahwali Pir's dargah, first hit Amandeep's scooty. Then getting down from the car, he opened fire on Amandeep.
It is being told that Gursewak Singh escaped after shooting 5 bullets, while Amandeep Kaur was taken to the hospital. There the doctors declared him dead. Later, Gursewak Singh was also found in a bullet-hit condition at Talwandi Chowk. He too died on reaching the hospital. After coming to know, the police team sent the dead bodies of both the employees to the mortuary for postmortem and started further investigation of the case. Officials say that due to being in the same department, there is mutual acquaintance, but the concrete reason behind this incident has not been revealed yet.
