As per directions of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India, Health Department Chandigarh Administration organized Health Melas at all functional Ayushman Bharat –Health & Wellness Centres (AB-HWCs) to ensure the continuum of care and to improve utilization of Healthcare Services. These Melas will be organized every month on different themes.
This month Health Mela was organized on 12th, December as a part of celebration of Universal Health Coverage Day “Build the World we want; A healthy future for all”.
This month the Health Melas were organized on theme of Hypertension and Diabetes Screening, ABHA IDs Creation and Tele-consultation. All 34 AB-HWCs of U.T. Chandigarh organised Health Mela with great enthusiasm.
In these Health Melas, approx 2250 no. of patients were screened for diabetes and 2300 no. of patients were screened for hypertension. 769 Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) IDs were created and 365 Tele consultations were done.The local councillors as well as resident welfare organisations extended their full help and actively participated in success of the Health melas .
Such type of Health Melas will be organized every month with different themes at AB-HWCs so that maximum number of patients gets benefited.
