THOUSANDS BID TEARFUL ADIEU TO GAUTAM

Thousands of people bid a tearful adieu to senior Congress leader and social activist Anil Kumar alias Dr. Gautam Chaudhary, grandson of former Municipal Committee president Dr. Shri Ram Chaudhary today. Gautam, 68, passed away yesterday during treatment for a lever problem in Delhi. Last night his body was brought here. A large number of people today joined the funeral procession that passed through main roads.

Former MP Sunil Jakhar, MLA Sandeep Jakhar and Mayor Vimal Thatai presented a wreath on the body at crowded Shivpuri ground. Former Parliamentary Secretary of Haryana and Director of IFFCO Prahlad Singh Gillankhera, former minister Sajjan Kumar Jakhar’s grandson Jaiveer Jakhar, former Municipal Committee president Shivraj Goyal, veteran ex-MC Amrik Singh Thind and many other councillors were present. Sunil and Sandeep also joined the family in offering shoulders to the deceased.

The funeral pyre was lit by Gautam’s younger brother Neeraj. Notably, Gautam, son of Ranjeet Singh Chaudhary, had a special identity as a key member of the management committee of the parliamentary and assembly elections contested by the Jakhar family for the past several years. A progressive farmer of Nihalkhera, Gautamcarried forward the family’s legacy of social service.
