5.615 KG HEROIN, 508 GRAMS OF OPIUM RECOVERED IN SRIGANGANAGAR

Another attempt by Pakistani smugglers to push drugs through drones into Indian territory, just 2.5 km from the India-Pakistan border in Sriganganagar district, failed. 5.615 kg of heroin and 508 grams of opium have been recovered from a farmer’s field in Chak 14 KND of Rawla police station area.

According to available information, villagers last night heard the sound of a drone. After this, it was found that some object had fallen in the field of farmer Sant Ram Bishnoi. Sunday, when a suspicious plastic bag was seen lying in the field, the police were immediately informed.

Rawla police, CID and BSF personnel reached the spot. On opening the bag, a total of 12 packets were found. Of these, 11 packets contained 5.615 kg of heroin and one packet contained 508 grams of opium. Forces conducted search operations in the entire area. From yesterday evening till this morning, information was collected about every person coming and going from outside in this area, but no suspicious person was found.

It is suspected that the drone dropped the consignment at another place instead of the location it was sent to Pakistani smugglers. For this reason, it did not fall into the hands of local smugglers and the villagers came to know about it. According to Rawla police station in-charge Balwant Kumar, the investigation into the case has been intensified. Further action is going on under the direction of SP Hari Shankar Yadav
