Tuba Sehar came up narrowly against her arch rival Nidhi Gupta in the final to grab the women’s singles title while her brother Mohd. Hassan proved better against Mohd. Talib in the men’s singles final in the 31st Chandigarh State Carrom Tournament at St. Stephen’s School, Sector 45 here today.
Tuba defeated Nidhi Gupta in the Women’s Singles Final in a tooth and nail fight. Tuba emerged winner in straight games by 19-18, 20-18.
In the men’s singles final Mohd. Hassan had to put all out efforts to win the title defeating Mohd. Talib in a three games affair by 19-13, 18-20, 20-11.
Mr. Gurinder Singh, former DGM, Punjab National Bank distributed the prizes to the winners while Mr. Louis Lopez, Principal, St. Stephen’s School, Sector 45, Chandigarh and President of the Association graced the occasion as guest of honour.
