Dr Baljit Kaur, Minister of Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Department said that the government led by Bhagwant Singh Mann was making special efforts for women empowerment.

Addressing students after inaugurating the joint annual function of Meera Medical Institute of Nursing and Hospital and Sardar Patel Nursing College here today, she said that nursing is such a proud profession which provides employment as well as an opportunity to serve humanity. She praised local institutions for their contribution in the field of nursing education and said that nursing was the foundation of the health sector and women were pioneering in the noble jobs.

(MOREPIC1)(SUBHEAD)She said that Anganwadi workers were also being recruited by her department while social security pensions were now being released on time. The previous governments used to work in their last year but the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was fulfilling its promises in the first year of its tenure.

Dr Gauri Sankar Mittal, Managing Director of the college welcomed the guests. A cultural program was presented by the students on the occasion.
