VIGILANCE BOOKS REVENUE PATWARI FOR TAKING BRIBE

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau during its anti-corruption campaign on Friday, has registered a corruption case against Revenue Patwari Radha Swami, posted in Revenue Halqa Sotha, district Sri Mukatsar Sahib for accepting bribe of Rs 1,000.

Giving this information here today, a spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau (VB) said the accused Patwari has been booked under section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act after the investigation report prepared on the basis of an online complaint lodged by a complainant Resham Singh of village Sotha, Sri Mukatsar Sahib district on State Anti-Corruption Helpline. In this regard a FIR has been registered at VB Police Station Bathinda.(SUBHEAD)

Revealing more details, the spokesperson informed that the complainant has alleged in his complaint that the above mentioned Patwari was demanding bribe for amending revenue record of his land regarding its mortgage status. In this regard the VB conducted a probe and registered this after finding him guilty for taking bribe money. Further investigation in this case was under progress, he added.
