Punjab Sports and Youth Services Department Cabinet Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer has said that for the revival of Punjab's heritage sports culture by the Punjab government, the games are a tribute to the motherland of five rivers and the beginning of the games is the beginning of a new look in Punjab. The games have done the work of filling energy.

He was speaking at the opening of the final match of the 19th cricket tournament organized by the Sarhad Kesari Chhajban Welfare Society on Sunday. Fazilka MLA Narinderpal Singh Sawna, Balluana MLA Amandeep Singh Goldy Musafir, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, social worker Karan Gilhotra were also present.(SUBHEAD)

The minister said that due to the poor performance of the previous governments, the leprosy of drugs had gripped our youth, but now the Punjab government is again bringing them out of the swamp of drugs and motivating youth to the playgrounds. In this way, our youth is again getting ready to compete in international sports competitions. He also announced a cricket stadium for Fazilka.

He especially praised the Sarhad Kesari Chhajban Welfare Society for conducting this tournament and said that when we all make joint efforts, we will surely realize our dream of creating our colourful Punjab.

Manoj Nagpal of Sarhad Kesari Chhajban Welfare Society said that 72 teams participated in the 19th tournament. The minister inaugurated the final match between Lambi and Khubban teams. The winning team will be awarded Rs 71,000 and the runner-up team will get Rs 31,000.
