With the arrest of Abhinav @ Rohan s/o Santokh Singh r/o Kotkapura, District Faridkot, Punjab, age – 36 years, the staff of Police Station Chanakya Puri, New Delhi District has solved case FIR No. 148/2022, dated 11.08.2022, u/s 307 IPC, registered at Police Station Chanakya Puri, New Delhi.
On 10.08.2022, information regarding an injured person admitted at the Safdarjung Hospital was received at PS Chanakya Puri, New Delhi. Victim namely Sh. Vikas Kumar stated that on 10.08.2022, at about 06:30 PM, he along with Vijaypal and Abhinav, was drinking alcohol at his residence. At about 09:30 PM, Abhinav entered into an altercation with Vikas Kumar over monetary debt of Rs. 1,500/- and in his rage, Abhinav stabbed him in the neck with a knife. The victim managed to escape and got himself admitted in the Hospital, New Delhi. On the basis of the victim’s statement, case FIR No. 148/2022, dated 11.08.2022, u/s 307 IPC was registered at PS Chanakya Puri, New Delhi and investigation was taken up.(SUBHEAD)
A team comprising of SI Anoop Kumar, HC Dhirender and Ct. Surender was constituted under the guidance of Inspr. Sanjeev Kumar, SHO/Chanakya puri and in the overall supervision of Ms. Suma Madda, ACP/Chanakya Puri to apprehend the accused. The witness namely Sh. Vijaypal was examined and whereabouts of the accused were shortlisted. Based on technical surveillance and location tracking, the accused namely Abhinav was apprehended on 11.08.2022 at around 6:00 PM from Bapudham Market before he could abscond.

Mr. Amrutha Guguloth , IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, said avvused was born in Faridkot, Punjab. After completion of higher secondary education, he completed BA and MBA from open-university. Thereafter, he started working in private sector and in 2018, he started his own restaurant. But the same was closed during Covid-19. In 2022, he came to Delhi and shifted to a rented house, which he shares with Sh. Vikas Kumar.
Recovery: –The weapon used in commission of offence i.e. stationery cutter was recovered at instance of the accused.
