CBI REGISTERS TWO SEPARATE CASES AGAINST ACCUSED INCLUDING FORMER RAJYA SABHA MEMBER, THEN COMMANDANT OF ITBP,OTHERS

The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case against former Member(Rajya Sabha); his son & seven others on the request of Uttar Pradesh Government & further Notification from Government of India and has taken over the investigation of the case Crime No.034/2021, earlier registered at Police Station Kotwali, Azamgarh(UP) on the allegations of cheating & misappropriation of about Rs.100 crore invested by a large number of private persons in two private companies(Chit Fund Companies) on false promises by the accused.

Searches were conducted at 12 different locations including at Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Bihar, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh which led to recovery of incriminating documents.

. The other case was registered against the then Commandant, 23 Battalion, Indo Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBPF), Seemadwar, Dehradun.; two other officials of ITBPF; a private person and unknown public servants/private persons on the allegations that then Commandant, 23 Battalion, ITBPF in connivance with other officials and contractors/suppliers falsified records of the wet canteen and payment was shown to be made on the letter heads of suppliers in cash for purported procurements. It was further alleged that the records of receiving of the Kerosene oil were also falsified, as in place of receipt of one tanker of kerosene oil, receipt of two tankers were shown on records. An alleged loss of Rs. 16 Lakh was caused to ITBP.

Searches were conducted at the residential/office premises of the accused at Patna, Jehanabad & Saran (Bihar); Dehradun (Uttarakhand) and Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh). Investigation in both cases is continuing.
