PUNJAB DEFEATED BENGAL AND QUALIFIED FOR QUARTER FINALS OF COL. C.K NAYUDU TROPHY 2021-22.

Punjab State U-25 years Men’s Team for Col. C.K Nayudu Trophy 2021-22 defeated Bengal by 55 Runs in their third Inter-State match played at Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi and further qualified for the Quarter Finals of the tournament .

Earlier Bengal won the toss and elected to field. Batting first Punjab scored 312 runs in 94.4 overs in their first innings. Ikjot Singh Thind scored 75 runs off 128 balls with 11 boundaries and 1 six and Pukhraj Mann scored 72 off 126 balls and 8 boundaries and 1 six were the main run getters for Punjab. Mohammad Kaif claimed 4 wickets for 52 runs and Sandipan Das, Pradipta Pramanik and A Mishra took 2 wickets each were the most successful wicket takers for Bengal

Replying, Bengal was bowled out on 282 runs in 91.2 overs in their first innings. Sudip Kumar Gharami scored 88 runs off 175 balls with 14 boundaries and 1 six, Agniv Pan scored 49 runs off 84 with 5 boundaries and 1 sixes were the main run getters for Bengal. Aryaman Dhaliwal took 5 / 84 and Harry Dhaliwal 2 /51 were the most successful wicket takers for Punjab.

Punjab in their second innings scored 233 in 106.5 overs. Vishwa Pratap Singh scored 52 runs off 101 with 11 boundaries and Anshul Chaudhary scored 47 runs off 116 with 7 boundaries were the main run getters for Punjab. A Mishra took 6 wickets for 59 runs and he was the most successful wicket taker for Bengal.(SUBHEAD)

Replying, Bengal was bundled out for 208 runs in 56.1 overs in their second innings and lost the match by 55 runs. Shakir Habib Gandhi scored 72 runs off 106 balls with 8 boundaries and Sudip Kumar Gharami made 38 runs off 53 balls with 2 boundaries , they were main run getters for Bengal. Naman Dhir took 4 / 45 and Sanvir Singh 2 / 8 were the most successful wicket takers for Punjab. With this the Punjab won the match by 55 runs and got 6 points (total 19 points in the Elite H Pool)
