The CBI Court, Patna today i.e. 31.10.2025 convicted and sentenced accused Abhijeet Sarkar, Sr. Assistant, National Insurance Company Ltd., (NICL), Kishanganj Branch, Kishanganj to 1 ½ Years Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) with a fine of Rs. 20,000/- in a Bribery case.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered the instant case on 27.09.2011 on the basis of written complaint that the accused Abhijeet Sarkar, Sr. Assistant, National Insurance Company Ltd., Kishanganj Branch demanded a bribe of Rs. 20,000/- from the complainant and accepted Rs.15,000/- as bribe for clearing his Insurance claim file in respect of accidental vehicle.
After investigation, CBI filed Charge-sheet on 31.04.2012 against the accused Abhijeet Sarkar.
The Ld. Court , after the trial, convicted and sentenced the accused accordingly.
