Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan held a state-level online meeting with the district education officers of the state to conduct mock session for students in Punjab Vidhan Sabha on 26 November 2025 tentatively.

Speaker informed that the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann is making historic reforms in the education sector. He said that government schools are being converted into smart schools, vacant posts of teachers are being filled and new efforts are being made to provide quality education to the students.

He said that the Punjab government is going to take important steps to provide political training to students along with their education. He said that a mock session will be held in Punjab Vidhan Sabha by selecting one student from each Vidhan Sabha constituency in order to make students aware about how political dispensation works, how laws are made, where the budget comes from etc. In this mock session, selected students of government schools will participate.

He disclosed that only if the students have a proper understanding of politics, they can go ahead and elect the right representative. He said that about 2400-2500 students from government schools have visited the Punjab Vidhan Sabha so far.
