They laid mats on the toll plaza and staged a sit-in protest and raised slogans against the Punjab government.

When the protesters did not agree to end the protest, the police detained Sunil Jakhar and took him to Khuian Sarwar police station. At around 4:15 pm, the police released all the BJP leaders who had been detained.

(SUBHEAD)When the police detained Sunil Jakhar, anger spread among the workers and they also tried to stop the police vehicle. The police removed the workers from the way and took Sunil Jakhar away in the vehicle.

His nephew MLA Sandeep Jakhar, former minister Surjit Jyani and other workers were taken to Sadar Police Station Abohar by the police in buses. Even in buses, the workers kept raising slogans of 'Punjab Government Murdabad'. The workers also staged a sit-in outside the Sadar police station.
