In the General Body Meeting of the Executive Committee of Rashtriya Kala Mandir today, Virendra Baid was unanimously re-elected as President.
He was warmly welcomed with garlands. He stated that he would soon announce the new executive committee. He clarified that during the upcoming three-year tenure, the 75-year-old traditions of the institution would not only be continued but also further strengthened.
Baid said, “The journey of Rashtriya Kala Mandir to promote music, singing, dance, drama, and fine arts will continue. We will also bring renowned artists and eminent personalities face-to-face with the residents of Sriganganagar, which has been an old tradition of this institution.”
Earlier, Secretary Rakesh Monga presented a detailed report of various programs organized by the institution over the past three years. Treasurer Nilaykant Chhabra placed the income and expenditure accounts of the last three years before all the members.
Sanjeev Lohia proposed the name of Virendra Baid for the post of President, stating that under Baid’s leadership, the institution had carried out remarkable work. The proposal was seconded by Banshidhar Jindal, M.P. Singh, Sudarshan Batra, Prerna Chitalangiya and others.
Chief Patron, Vijay Goyal, and Patron Ajay Gupta announced Virendra Baid as President by unanimous consensus.
Importantly, Rashtriya Kala Mandir had recognized and encouraged the childhood singing talent of the late Ghazal Emperor Jagjit Singh, who was born and raised in the city and earned fame globally
