The CBI, Court, Lucknow, on 02.05.2026, has convicted the accused Jishan Khan and sentenced him to Imprisonment for 10 Years with a Fine of Rs. 9,000, in the case relating to culpable homicide of Inspector Anil Kumar, SHO, PS – Kotwali, Pratapgarh, UP, on 19.11.2015.
The instant case was registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on 29.06.2018 in compliance of Order dated 23.05.2018 of Hon’ble Allahabad High Court, Lucknow Bench, passed in W.P. No.22997 (M/B) of 2016 (Arti Gujar Vs. State of UP & Ors) by taking over the investigation of case crime No. 1081/2015 dated 19.11.2015 U/s 302 IPC of PS Kotwali City, Pratapgarh against unknown persons. The case relates to culpable homicide of Inspector Anil Kumar, SHO, PS – Kotwali, Pratapgarh on 19.11.2015 at Model Shop of Hotel Vaishnavi, Pratapgarh.
After completion of investigation, the CBI filed Chargesheet against 02 accused persons namely Jishan Khan and Bocha @ Raju Soni. The cognizance of the offences was taken on 22.02.2021. The charges were framed against both the accused persons on 14.12.2022.
During the trial, accused Jishan Khan filed a written application confessing the charged offences on 04.04.2026. His file was separated from the main file on 10.04.2026 and new Court case No. 574/2026 was allotted.
The Hon’ble Court of Ld. Spl. Judge, CBI, Lucknow vide Judgement & Order dated 02.05.2026 convicted the accused Jishan Khan on the basis of evidence available on record and the confessional statement of the accused and sentenced him accordingly.
