As per the directions of Sh. SagarPreetHooda, IPS, W/DGP, UT Chandigarh Police, with close guidance of Sh. Pushpender Kumar, IPS, W/IGP/UT Chandigarh, Sh. Rajiv Ranjan Singh, IPS, W/DIG, UT, Chandigarh and under the supervision of Ms Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, SSP, UT, Chandigarh, Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, SP Operations, UT, Chandigarh, special teams of Operations Cell consisting of Inspector Harinder Singh Sekhon and Insp Satvinder Singh were constituted under close guidance of Sh. Vikas Sheokand, Dy.SP Operations to snub such type of miscreants in the area of U.T Chandigarh to keep vigil on the anti-social elements, wanted criminals/gangsters etc who are procuring illegal weapons bearing logistic supports to the gangsters as and when required.
Based on secret information a team of Operations Cell Sector-26 headed by Insp. In a major breakthrough, during sustained interrogation, it has been revealed that the all the accused were actively working as a key associates and shooters for foreign-based gangsters Doni Bal & Shaganpreet Singh. The accused were reportedly in continuous contact with both gangsters through the encrypted social applications, indicating deep involvement in organized transnational target killing &criminal activities, Shagan and Doni Balused to send them small amounts of money through QR codes via different channels, which are currently being investigated.
In the present case, all arrested accused have disclosed that, on the directions of foreign-based gangster Shaganpreet Singh,they Gaurav@Gola, Rajat @ Ghudda, Jaspreet Singh @ Gujjar, and Ravi @ Kali, entered Punjab University with the intent to attack Jashan Jawandha, President of SOPU.
Subsequently, the accused Gaurav @ Gola, Rajat@ Gudda, Jaspreet Singh @ Gujjar, and Ravi@ Kali escaped from the rear gate of the university on a scooter. Near a temple outside the campus, they snatched a Bullet motorcycle at gunpoint and fled towards Mohali.
They revealed that Shaganpreet is in directly touch with them thorough encrypted social applicationsand also provided money for drugs during their escape.
Preliminary dislosures: It has been revealed that Ravi Nijjar @ Kali had developed close links with gangster networks through criminal associates and social media platforms. Lured by easy money, criminal fame and the influence of foreign-based gangsters, he became an active operative of the gang headed by Doni Bal and Shaganpreet.
The accused was being continuously tasked to carry out recce, targeted firing incidents and violent crimes in Punjab and Chandigarh. He remained in touch with his handlers through encrypted communication applications and was receiving direct instructions regarding targets, movement and execution plans.
A team of Insp. Harinder Singh Sekhon has also arrested another active associate of the notorious Shaganpreet & Doni Bal Gang. The accused, identified as Aryan S/o Rinku R/o #8/84, Waryam Singh Colony, Amrik Singh Nagar, Amritsar, Punjab, was apprehended from the near Water works wall back side PAN ASIAN EXPERIENCE CLUB Sector-26, Chandigarh. During the operation, police recovered one sophisticated automatic pistol along with 04 live cartridges from his possession. In this regard, FIR No. 59 dated 16.05.2026 U/s 25, 54, 59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Sector-26, Chandigarh.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the arrested accused was in direct contact with foreign-based gangster Shaganpreet through the encrypted social applications and had reportedly come to Chandigarh on his directions to execute a heinous crime in the city. The accused is also wanted by Punjab Police in the sensational murder case of innocent Class-12 student Amarjot Singh at Mehta Chowk, Mehsmipur Road, Amritsar, besides being involved in the Aadti firing case of Khanna. i.e. case FIR No. 67 dated 25.03.2026 u/s 308, 351(2) BNS PS Payal Khanna Punjab.
The arrest of the accused persons and recovery of illegal weapon has averted a possible major criminal incident in the city. Further investigation is in progress to trace his links, associates, and criminal network.

During interrogation, the accused Gaurav @ Gola disclosed that he, along with Aryan and Sonu@ Shanga, had conducted a recce of the commission agent’s shop in the Mandi area Khanna, Punjab after receiving directions from foreign-based gangster Shaganpreet. The accused further stated that, he &Sonu@Shanga opened fire at the target shop. Investigation has also revealed that the accused and his associates were in constant touch with Shaganpreet throughout the conspiracy.
Case FIR No. 30 dated 01.05.2026 U/s 103(1) BNS, & 25, 27 Arms Act PS DhilwanKapurthala Punjab. (GopiNijjar Murder Case).
In a major breakthrough in the GopiNijjar murder case, Chandigarh Police has uncovered the conspiracy behind the sensational killing and identified the key accused involved in the crime.
During investigation, it has been revealed that the murder was orchestrated at the behest of foreign-based gangsters Doni Bal&Shaganpreet Singh. Acting under their directions, accused Gaurav @ Gola along with other armed associates, received real-time instructions from the foreign-based handlers and fired upon GopiNijjer.
Amarjot Murder case: In his disclosure, the accused stated that on 03 May 2025, on the directions of foreign-based gangster Shaganpreet Singh, Rajat @ Gudda along with his brother Aryan andone associate named Bobby. Bobby provided an automatic pistol with ammunition to him and took them towards Jalal village. On the way, after receiving information about the target, the accused Rajat @ Gudda fired one shot, after which Bobby fired multiple rounds, resulting in the victim sustaining gunshot injuries.
