Mohammed Rafi, one of India’s greatest playback singers, was remembered with reverence at a grand musical program “Yaad-e-Rafi” organised by Rashtriya Kala Mandir at Chaudhary Ramjas Kala Sadan, Sriganganagar.

(MOREPIC1)  The program started with Kamlesh Kalyana singing the bhajan “Radhike Tune Bansuri Bajai”, which mesmerized the audience. Along with Kalyana, young singer Angel Middha added charm by singing classical songs like “Ajhu Na Aaye Balma” and “Woh Jab Yaad Aaye Bahut Yaad Aaye”. Sunil Sharma “Sheelu” enthralled the audience with Rafi's timeless songs like “Na Kisi Ki Aankh Ka Noor Hoon”, “Abhi Na Jao Chhod Kar”, “Chhoo Lene Do Nazuk Hothon Ko”, “Chaudhvin Ka Chand Ho” and “Oh Duniya Ke Rakhwale”.

Yuvraj Singh Sidhu added colour to the atmosphere with the songs “Aane se uske aaye bahar” and “Yeh reshmi zulfein”. RKM patron Mohanlal Chitalangiya enthralled the audience by singing the song “Tu Ganga ki mauj main Jamuna ki dhara”.

Pankaj Pahwa played keyboard, Sunil Maurya played rhythm and Vipin Juneja played octa pad and accompanied the singers very well. Special guest Dr. Sarita Upneja felicitated all the artists and accompanists.

RKM chairman Virendra Baid announced that RKM will soon organize a special program for members above 50 years of age. Poetess Ritu Singh made the program fantastically interesting by mentioning the life story and achievements of Mohammad Rafi, while conducting the stage.
