VIBRANT VILLAGE PROGRAMME ORGANISED AT BORDER VILLAGE PAKKA CHISHTI

25 Punjab Battalion NCC, Abohar under the guidance of Col Rajeev Sirohi, Commanding Officer conducted a Vibrant Village programme at Village Pakka Chishti, 1 Km from the IB and approximately 15 Km from Fazilka.

The objective of the programme was to spread awareness regarding the Government approved scheme of Vibrant Village Programme for creating better living conditions, improving the infrastructure, creating adequate livelihood opportunities thereby ensuring prosperous borders, controlling trans-border crime, instilling and inculcating a sense of belongingness among the border population with nation, a medical camp and tree plantation drive was conducted in the village. 

(SUBHEAD)Activities conducted during the event included an Awareness lecture/Interaction to educate local populace on Govt's initiative of Vibrant Village Programme aimed towards comprehensive infrastructure development, livelihood opportunities, improved educational infrastructure, enhancing border security and National integration. Awareness lecture on Health and hygiene aspects, ill-effects of drug abuse by a medical officer.

Tree plantation drive to spread knowledge on scheme 'Green India Wasteland', highlighting the importance of planting trees, saving water and protecting our environment. Poster making competition involving local school students and cadets on the theme 'Green India Wasteland'. A friendly Volleyball match between local youth of village and NCC cadets to foster a sense of belongingness and Community engagement. Homage was paid to the martyrs at the War Memorial, Asaf Wala.

Vinod Kumar Principal GHS Pakka Chishti, Dr Ajay Dhawan Medical Officer, Jaspreet Singh, President Shaheed Bhagat Singh Youth Club were also present.
