Raj Sadosh/Abohar.

As City-1 police could not find any clue about the minor girl of Gobind Nagari who was missing for 45 days, a large number of people along with members of NGOs took out a protest march. Raising slogans against the Punjab government and the police administration, they staged a sit-in outside the police station and demanded the immediate recovery of the girl.

Beopar Mandal President Suresh Satija, Sukhjinder Rajan, Dhanpat Siyag, Deepak Chhapola, Punit Arora, Rajesh Gupta, Subhash Baghla, Raju Charaya, Gurmeet Prajapati, Lalit Soni and the victim’s family and people from Gobind Nagari participated in the protest. The protesters said that despite 45 days having passed, no trace of the minor has been found. The main accused is still out of custody. Which security of women the state government has been claiming, they questioned.

SHO Maninder Singh said that the police are continuously investigating the matter. So far 11 people have been detained for questioning. During investigation, it was revealed that the minor had talked to her relatives on phone through a youth named Sunil. After this, the police also detained that youth from Rajasthan for questioning.

Police officials asked for a week’s time and assured that the named accused and the minor girl would be traced. Also assured to arrest the accused’s maternal grandfather Nand Singh in two-three days. The parents and family members of the minor sat on strike under a tree in the police station premises.
