Playback singer Asees Kaur has released Nitnem along with Tips Music’s Punjabi division, a devotional album featuring the sacred daily Gurbani prayers, offering listeners a space for peace and spiritual strength.
For Asees, Nitnem is more than an album, it is a reflection of the faith that has guided her throughout her life. Long before becoming one of India’s most loved voices, she began her musical journey singing kirtan at the Gurudwara since the age of three, where devotion and music became inseparable.
Created in collaboration with Kumar Taurani and the team at Tips Music, the album presents the daily Sikh prayers with sincerity and reverence, making them accessible for listeners to include in their everyday lives. The album includes Panj Bania (the essential morning prayers), evening and bed time prayer along with a Simran (song) which has been released on her YouTube channel with an official music video. All prayers are uploaded with the entire path (in text), easy for viewers to consume and pray, make it a part of their daily lives.
Speaking about the release, Asees Kaur said: “Faith has always been the foundation of my life. When I dreamt of coming to Mumbai, I turned to Gurbani with an ardaas. By the time I completed my paath, I received a call from Salim Merchant sir for my first song, the beginning of my Bollywood journey. Today, when life is so fast-paced, I hope Nitnem makes it easier for people to stay connected to Gurbani wherever they are and find a few moments of peace each day.”
Nitnem is now available on all major audio streaming platforms and YouTube, inviting listeners and families to experience the timeless beauty of Gurbani as part of their daily routine.
