Unidentified youths pelted bricks and stones at the clinic of Dr. Mukesh, BJP councillor in Rajiv Nagar smashing the. Dr. Mukesh was not present but his brother Jasveer was injured and admitted to the Civil Hospital.

Apart from the clinic, a nearby medical store was also damaged creating panic in the area. Locals said that a few days ago, Dr. Mukesh had filed a police complaint against some youths. It is suspected that this incident was carried out due to this.

MLA Sandeep Jakhar visited the hospital and inquired about the wellbeing of injured Jasveer. Dr. Mukesh said that about a week ago he had given a complaint to the police about alleged drug traffickers. Upon that, he was also threatened with dire consequences and now because of that, his clinic was attacked.

The MLA said that the police appealed to people to give information about drug peddlers, but the safety of those giving information is not being ensured. He said that if the complainants start being attacked then common people will be afraid to come forward and give information. He demanded immediate arrest of the accused.

City-2 SHO Ravinder Bhiti, after inspecting the spot, said that the police have started investigation and the guilty will be identified and arrested soon. Police are also scanning the surrounding CCTV footage.
