Raj Sadosh/Abohar.
The minor girl who went missing from her Gobind Nagari home about 50 days back and the boy who had allegedly abducted her, were finally recovered by the City-1 police and presented in the Abohar court today. The learned judge sent the boy on police remand while the minor girl has been handed over to the officials of Child Welfare Society Fazilka, where she will be counseled. After that it will be decided whether the girl wants to go with her parents or she will be sent to Nari Niketan. The police have taken the boy on remand and started questioning.
The family members of the minor girl were staging an indefinite protest outside the police station for the last four days. They were adamant on their demand to find and bring back their daughter. The police had earlier detained around 12 relatives including the boy’s mother. NGOs and farmers extended full support to the family in this protest which ended after four days.
Police sources indicated that during the police remand, the boy who allegedly abducted the minor will be interrogated as to under what circumstances and how he coaxed the minor and took her away from Abohar. Where did he stay for so many days and who illegally provided him a shelter? Appropriate action can be taken against the other accused also
