FOUR UNDERTRIALS BOOKED FOR ATTACKING A PRISONER

NINE JAIL INMATES BOOKED FOLLOWING RECOVERY OF 11 MOBILES

The police reportedly booked four undertrials for attacking a prisoner in the jail.

As per information, the accused identified as Amanjot Singh, Mohit, Gagandeep Singh alias Bhullar and Sahil alias Money attacked a prisoner identified as Rahul alias Tota. The accused who were lodged in barrack number 2 with Rahul, had some heated arguments following which they started beating Rahul. The jail officials immediately intervene and saved Rahul.

All the accused had been booked under sections 115(2), 117(1), 3(5) of BNS besides 44(2) of Punjab Prioson and Correctional Service Act 2026.

In other incident, seven undertrials and a prisoner had been booked following recovery of 11 mobile phones, 1 adapter and 1 data cable from their possession. The accused have been identified as prisoner Rajinder Singh alias Perry, undertrials Pagga alias Bagga, Gurdit Singh, Mandeep Singh, Amandeep Singh alias Gora, Rishu, Lovepreet Singh, Davinder Saini and Love alias Rahul. All the accused had been booked under section 42 of Prisons Act.
