ARMY COMMANDER SAPTA SHAKTI COMMAND VISITS CHETAK CORPS ZONE

Lieutenant General Mohit Malhotra, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Sapta Shakti Command, undertook a visit to Chetak Corps zone from Tuesday to Friday 2026 to review operational preparedness.

During the visit, he toured Fazilka, Bathinda, Sriganganagar, Suratgarh, Bikaner and Lalgarh Jattan Military Stations, along with Mahajan Field Firing Ranges (MFFR) and operational areas. He also paid homage to fallen soldiers at the Naggi War Memorial and interacted with veterans of the 1971 Indo-Pak War.

The Army Commander was briefed by the GOC Chetak Corps and all Divisional Commanders on operational preparedness, training activities, technological initiatives and operational logistics.

During his visit to training facilities, he interacted with troops of the Corps Zone and complimented all ranks on their high standard of professionalism and operational commitment. He emphasised the need for task-oriented, realistic training and validation, with sustained focus on preparedness for all contingencies.

The Army Commander also highlighted the imperative of adapting to emerging technologies in modern conflict, with particular emphasis on developing drone and counter-drone capabilities, building proficiency in unmanned aerial systems, and leveraging innovative technological solutions to enhance operational effectiveness and combat readiness.
