MLA FINDS KHUIAN SARWAR SPORTS STADIUM IN SHAMBLES

MLA Sandeep Jakhar, who came to take stock of the poor condition of the sports ground in village Khuian Sarwar, lambasted the Punjab government for negligence in development works and alleged discrimination against Abohar area.

The MLA today visited the playground and saw the situation and interacted with the local youth and villagers. He said that the Punjab government is continuously making tall claims of development, but the playground in village Khuian Sarwar is exposing the ground reality of those claims. He said that in the name of development of the playgrounds, only foundation stones are visible at some places, while at many places the work has not even started. And, if some work has been done, serious questions are being raised about its quality.

He said that the playground is not just a structure made of bricks and stones, but is a place linked to the future of the youth of the village. Today a large number of youths are preparing for security services and need proper grounds for physical practice. But due to lack of facilities, these youth are facing a lot of problems. The government should have provided better facilities to keep the youth away from drugs and involve them in sports, but the situation is exactly the opposite.

The MLA said it should be investigated where the amount sanctioned for the development of the playground was spent, how much work was done and what was the quality of the work. Responsibility should be fixed for visibly apparent irregularities.
