PUNJAB SCHOOL EDUCATION BOARD, MOHALI TEXTBOOKS TO BE DELIVERED AT DOORSTEP THROUGH INDIA POST IN THE STATE

Face2News/Chandigarh

An agreement has been signed between Punjab School Education Board, Mohali and Department of Posts, Punjab Circle, Chandigarh on Tuesday for facilitating doorstep delivery of textbooks for Classes I to XII across the State of Punjab.

Keeping in view the convenience of students, the Punjab School Education Board has launched an online “Pustak Portal”, an e-commerce platform through which students, parents and schools can conveniently purchase textbooks for Classes I to XII. The Department of Posts will subsequently deliver these ordered textbooks at doorstep through its extensive network and reach.

Earlier, books ordered through the portal had to be collected by purchasers from designated district offices of the Board. With the introduction of this doorstep delivery facility of India Post; students, parents and schools can now place their orders online through the Pustak Portal and can avail a 15% discount.

This initiative will make the availability of textbooks easier, faster and more convenient, especially for students and schools located in rural and remote areas of Punjab. It will also save valuable time and travelling expenses of students and parents, as they can order all the required textbooks through a single online platform and receive at their doorstep through India Post without visiting the Board’s offices.

During this collaboration, Dr. Amarpal Singh, IAS (Retd.), Chairman, Punjab School Education Board Mohali, Shri Sakatar Singh Bal, Secretary, Punjab School Education Board Mohali, Sh. Kumar Sanjeev, IPoS, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices Chandigarh Division, Sh. Kishori Lal, Incharge BPC Chandigarh and other officers/officials from both the departments were also present.
