A woman from Dhani Dandewali of Abohar, who was allegedly attacked with sticks by her nephew and left bleeding, died after treatment that lasted for about 13 days.
It has been reported that around 80-year-old Isro Bai, was sitting at home on August 20. Her Nephew Sukhwinder Singh allegedly started beating his father. Sukhwinder’s father came to his sister Isro’s house to save himself. During this time, Sukhwinder, who was enraged, also reached their house and started fighting with his father again. When Isro tried to save his brother, Sukhwinder got angry and hit her several times on the head with a stick lying in the house and ran away from the spot. After this, the family members got the injured Isro admitted to the government hospital in Abohar for treatment. Seeing the deep injuries on her head, she was referred for better treatment. The family took her to Faridkot, where she died last night.
Today, the body of the deceased was brought to the mortuary of the government hospital of Abohar. City-1 Police kept the body of the deceased in the mortuary for post-mortem. The police have started investigating.
Isro Bai’s relatives alleged that Sukhwinder had in the past beaten his father and he was brought to the civil hospital. Police were informed but no action was taken. This could not be independently verified, however.
