IAS OFFICER SECRETARY COMMITTING SUICIDE BY JUMPING FROM SIX FLOOR OF HARYANA CIVIL SECRETARIAT

IAS Officer Secretary reported to committed suicide by jumping from sixth floor of Haryana Secetariat on wednesday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Ganesh Das Arora, who was serving as Special Senior Secretary to IAS officer Hitesh Kumar Meena.

Initial reports said, the incident occurred at around 12:24 PM. Police reached the spot soon after receiving information and took the body into custody. It was later sent to the mortuary of Sector-16 Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination. An investigation into the matter is currently underway.

Eyewitnesses stated that Arora was performing his routine duties in his office before the incident. He reportedly got up from his chair without informing anyone and proceeded toward the upper floor of the building. Before colleagues could understand what was happening, he allegedly jumped from the building. Security personnel present at the Secretariat immediately alerted senior officials and informed the police.

Some employees associated with the Secretariat claimed that Arora had allegedly attempted a similar act nearly 15 days ago. At that time, colleagues intervened in time and prevented the attempt. Police are also examining this aspect as part of their investigation.

Sources indicate that Ganesh Das Arora was due to retire in October this year. His wife, Uma Arora, is reportedly posted at the Raj Bhavan. No official statement has been issued by the family so far.
