The Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) organised an engaging and insightful programme “Vision 2 Action” on the theme “Engineering a Greener Global Built-Environment” at CII, Chandigarh, on Saturday late evening. Around 150 participants, including leading architects, HVAC experts and officials from PEDA, GRIHA and other departments, attended the programme. Many architects from Ludhiana participated as special invitees.
The event brought together experts from across India’s construction and building industry to discuss sustainable development, green buildings and the practical application of technology.
Ar. Sanjay Goel from Ludhiana delivered an inspiring presentation on Green Cities, while Vikram Murthy, Chair, Advocacy Committee, shared perspectives on green and sustainable buildings. Ar. Shelja Gupta discussed the practical aspects and ground realities associated with green buildings.
Ar. Sidhartha Wig presented fascinating examples from Spain, China and Japanese culture, highlighting how technology can be leveraged for small but meaningful sustainability interventions focused on human interaction.
Dr. Bhullar presented a thoughtful strategy for improving the working conditions of security guards through the development of low-cost, sustainable cabins.
The programme concluded with an engaging Open House discussion, followed by concluding remarks by ISHRAE Vice President Ajay Bansal. Zonal Chair, North, Sheeba Siddiqui also participated in the programme. The participants appreciated the knowledge-sharing sessions and the vision of ISHRAE towards sustainability, innovation and practical solutions. Several participants also enrolled as ISHRAE members on the spot, expressing hope for more such enriching programmes in the future.
Ar. Sanjay Goel in his return here said that the event provided a meaningful “Vision to Action” platform for exchanging ideas on green buildings, sustainable development and the effective use of technology for creating a more sustainable built environment.
