A major milestone in the promotion of sports and community engagement was marked with the official formation of the Mohali District Pickleball Association (MDPA)—a not-for-profit NGO registered under the Societies Registration Act. Headquartered in SAS Nagar, Mohali, the Association aims to popularize the fast-growing sport of Pickleball across Mohali and the broader Punjab region.
Led by Army Veteran and Visionary Sports Promoter The MDPA is spearheaded by Brigadier HPS Bedi, VSM (Retd.), a certified Pickleball coach and passionate sports promoter. Through the Shoot Pickleball Academy, he has pioneered the sport's introduction in North India. At 72, he remains an energetic ambassador of fitness, sportsmanship, and community leadership.
