Raj Sadosh/Abohar/Chandigarh.

Karan Gilhotra, President of Hockey Chandigarh, has been honoured with the ‘Award of Excellence’ for his significant contribution to sports, promotion of hockey and encouragement of players. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini presented the award to him at the ‘Kar Har Maidan Fateh’ platform.

The Chief Minister appreciated Gilhotra’s contribution to sports and encouraged him to take on leadership roles in other organisations as well. He observed that, being of a similar age group, Gilhotra could better understand the issues and challenges faced by young people and play an important role in addressing them.

Chandigarh has a long-standing association with hockey, with players from the city showcasing their talent in various competitions. In this context, sports organisations play a vital role in popularising hockey among the younger generation, providing opportunities to emerging talent and boosting players’ morale.

The recognition of Karan Gilhotra highlights his efforts towards the development of hockey and the promotion of sporting talent. The honour is expected to inspire young players in Chandigarh to pursue their sporting ambitions and continue honing their skills.
