Face2News/Chandigarh

Harshita Srikrishna, a Class XI-C student of Delhi Public School (DPS), Chandigarh, has brought recognition to the city with her innovation to prevent blockages in storm drains, which was selected among the top 60 innovations at a national-level competition.

Harshita represented Chandigarh at the 12th National Level Exhibition and Project Competition of INSPIRE MANAK, held in New Delhi from October 12 to 14, 2026. The event was organised by the National Innovation Foundation under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.

Her device addresses the problem of storm drains getting blocked, which can obstruct the flow of rainwater, particularly during heavy rainfall. The innovation reflects an effort to develop a practical solution to an urban drainage challenge.

The selection of her project among the top 60 innovations at the national-level exhibition marks a significant achievement for the young innovator and highlights the role of school students in developing ideas to address real-world problems.

Harshita’s achievement has brought recognition to DPS Chandigarh and the city, showcasing the scientific curiosity and problem-solving approach of young students.
