A four-day global summit was formally inaugurated on Saturday at Brahma Kumaris Shantivan, Abu Road—with the ceremonial lighting of a lamp by Union Minister for Culture and Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, along with Chief Administrator BK Mohini Didi and others.
Shekhawat remarked that the world is currently navigating its most challenging period since the Second World War. Many nations are striving to establish their dominance, and the entire globe is grappling with an energy crisis. Mutual trust between nations has diminished, and we are also facing an environmental crisis. In such times, the responsibility of organizations like the Brahma Kumaris has grown even further.
Chief Administrator BK Mohini Didi shared that Brahma Baba encouraged women—many of whom might otherwise never have left their homes—to travel across the country and abroad. This initiative is rooted not only in spirituality but also in a profound commitment to the welfare of the world.
Sudhir Chaudhary, Editor-in-Chief of DD News, was honored with the ‘Rashtra Chetna Puraskar’. He remarked that social media is like a bottomless pit in which we are gradually sinking. While humanity has acquired the power to transform the world, one must ask: do we possess the power to transform ourselves?
Additional Secretary General Dr. BK Mrityunjaya said that today marks a golden day in the history of the Brahma Kumaris that continues to impart its teachings in 140 countries.
Dr. Sandeep Marwah, founder of Noida Film City, Marwah Studios, and AAFT, observed that some of the world’s most beautiful sentiments and ideas can be found within the Brahma Kumaris.
Raktim Das, CEO of Zee Media Corporation Ltd, emphasized that the responsibility of the media has grown; we must foster optimism and prioritize reporting that instill hope in people.
Senior journalist Aman Chopra was honored with the ‘Gaurav Samman’. Renowned playback singer and Padma Shri recipient Anuradha Paudwal, Additional Chief Administrator BK Munni Didi, Rajiv Dobhal (Times Foundation) and Dr. Manasvi Aggarwal—the first Indian woman to scale the highest peaks on all seven continents—also shared their perspectives. The proceedings were moderated by BK Shivika.
