The Municipal Corporation here has launched a special drive to clear the garbage that had accumulated during the strike by safai sewaks due to the murder of a worker’s son, Ajay Kumar, outside the Valmiki Mandir Dharamshala. Even when the deceased had recorded his statement before the death, no action was taken against the individual named in the statement.
As the Diwali festival was just a few days away, safai sewaks agreed to call off the strike in the wider interests of the town. Removing huge stacks from the scheduled dumps was the first priority for them. The MC has deployed a super suction machine to end the blockade from the sewer lines in Arya Nagar area.
Today, the Municipal Corporation used JCB machines and tractor trolleys to remove the trouble dump that had developed due to the residents throwing waste near the boundary walls of the Govt. Basic Elementary School and a park in Street 5 in Nai Abadi. In the nearby CM Yogshala Park in Street 6, grass cutting was followed by cleaning of the lawns and paths. The entire exercise was supervised by Harinder Singh Bedi on behalf of councilor Renu Bala Bedi.
MLA Sandeep Jakhar, in a social media post, offered salute to former councilors Naresh Wadhwa, Puneet Arora Sonu, Dr. Mukesh and others for taking pains to tackle sewage system blockages by burning their nights.
