CBI has arrested an Assistant Director of Plant Quarantine Station (PQS), Visakhapatnam and a private person, in a bribery case.
The CBI registered the instant case on 06.11.2026 against two officials of Plant Quarantine Station (PQS), Visakhapatnam including the aforesaid accused Assistant Director, Three private persons and other unknown persons for alleged demand and acceptance of undue advantage. It was alleged that the accused Assistant Director, PQS, demanded Rs 1,00,000 for clearance of containers pertaining to a private firm.
The CBI laid a trap on 06.11.2026 and accused Assistant Director was caught red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs.1,00,000 from a Private Person. The bribe amount was recovered from his possession. Both, the Assistant Director and private person have been arrested. Searches were conducted at the premises of the accused persons located at Visakhapatnam, Faridabad and Thimanapalli Village, Kolar District, Karnataka. Investigation is continuing.
