In the state-wide drive against criminals & gangsters launched as per directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Maan and DGP Gaurav Yadav, SAS Nagar Police under the guidance/directions of DIG Ropar Range, Sh Harcharan Singh Bhullar, IPS, achieved a breakthrough with the arrest of three Haryana based criminals along with a weapon, said Sh Deepak Pareek, IPS, SSP SAS Nagar.
(MOREPIC1)The arrested accused have been identified as Sandeep Kakkar r/o Gohana, Sonipat. Mohit r/o Sarthal, Gohana, Sonipat and Gaurav r/o Baroda, Sonipat.
One .315 calibre pistol alongwith 10 live cartridges has also been recovered besides impounding a Scorpio car bearing a registeration number HR 11 F 6397 they were travelling in.
Briefing the media, SSP Deepak Pareek said that a tip-off was received about movement of criminals in the Distt.SAS Nagar. Acting swiftly, special teams were formed. The teams lead by SI Surjeet Singh Incharge Narcotic Cell, dist SAS Nagar & SI Ajay Kumar Kumar I/C PP Lehli followed their movement and successfully arrested them near toll plaza, Lalru, yesterday.
Arrested accused have criminal past with multiple criminal cases registered against them in Haryana including a murder case against accused Gaurav, said SSP. FIR No 179 u/s 25, 54, 59 Arms Act, dated 07-12-24 registered at PS Lalru. Further investigation to discover their linkages is ongoing, said SSP.
