SC COMMISSION SEEKS REPORT FROM SSP AMRITSAR REGARDING USE OF CASTEST WORDS

Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission has taken suo moto notice in a case and has sought a report from Senior Superintendent of Police Amritsar. 

Giving information in this regard, Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission Chairman S. Jasvir Singh Garhi said that in Amritsar, various organizations related to Scheduled Castes staged a protest against the dismissal of a person from their job, where the police officer used a caste-based words against the protesters has come to his attention through social media and print media. 

Taking suo moto notice of this matter, SP Harpal Singh has been summoned on February 10, 2026 along with a report regarding this matter.
