Prof. B.L. Rinwa, former president of the Bharatiya Janata Party was joined by Mayor Vimal Thatai and veteran educationist Dev Singh Khaira in inaugurating the Study Center that the Jakhar Trust has set up here on the Gaushala Road.

Prof. Rinwa said that the study center, dedicated to the late Surinder Jakhar, visionary founder of the “Nashon Se Door, Khelon Ki Aur” campaign, will prove to be a milestone in the educational and career development of Abohar.

(SUBHEAD)Just as Surinder Jakhar, as the youngest elected chairman, brought glory to IFFCO, Asia's largest cooperative institution, on the world stage, this study center established by the Trust will help young people prepare for higher examinations and competitions to achieve excellence in their lives. The Trust has been organizing cricket and other sports competitions for many years, providing opportunities for young people to stay away from drugs. Organizing seminars to raise awareness against drug abuse and recently inter-school competitions at the DAV College were commendable steps.

MLA Sandeep Jakhar and TJT chief trustee Jaiveer Jakhar said that 48 young people will be able to prepare for higher education and competitive examinations at this center, taking advantage of modern facilities. Mayor Vimal Thatai and Dev Singh Khaira described this center as a historic step for the career development in the area.
