Reacting to the Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday, former Director of Ludhiana Smart City Ltd and former Chairman of IIA Punjab Chapter Ar Sanjay Goel has said that there is nothing much in the union budget specially for urban development, smart cities and only seven high speed rail corridors will come up and hope Ludhiana (Punjab) will get one such corridor connectivity to further boost trade.

In a statement here, he said sad news is that there is nothing for the middle class, even there is no change in income tax slab. However, he hoped that Ludhiana will get one mega textile park as Union Govt will come up with few more new ones in coming financial year.

He said, “Our cities towns and villages are suffering a lot and every year there must be more and more funds allocation for fast development of cities, towns and villages, which is not visible in this budget with any increase.”

He remarked saying that “waiting for more happiness for poor people, middle class, infrastructure in coming times”.
