VIGILANCE BUREAU ARRESTS THREE COOPERATIVE SOCIETY MEMBERS FOR COMMITTING FRAUD OF RS 35,93,133

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing drive against corruption in the state, on Monday arrested Darshan Singh, Ex-Sarpanch, Kewal Singh and Surjit Singh, all Ex-Members of Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society, village Hamidi, Barnala district.

Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the state VB said above said society members have been arrested in a FIR No. 16/2021 registered under sections 409, 420 of IPC and prevention of corruption act at VB police station Patiala range.

He further informed that all the aforementioned accused were arrested for committing a scam of Rs 35,93,133 in the said society. In this regard Jagtar Singh, Secretary of this cooperative society had already been arrested. Further investigation into this case was under progress.
