In line with the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government's zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, Punjab Power and Public Works Minister S. Harbhajan Singh ETO on Friday announced the immediate suspension of a Senior Xen, JE, and Store Keeper for attempted financial malpractice at PSPCL's Kotakpura central reservoir. He said that police action has been also initiated against the employees and the trader involved in the case.

The Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO said that the teams of PSPCL's Enforcement Wing and Technical Investigation Wing jointly conducted a surprise checking of Central Warehouse, PSPCL, Kotakpura on July 25, and inspected the ongoing sale of scrap under scrap sale order. He said that this surprise inspection revealed an attempt to conceal new aluminum conductors among scrap goods in one of the three trucks carrying the scrap, potentially causing financial losses to PSPCL.

(SUBHEAD)Power Minister said that the officials found responsible including Senior Xen (Store) Beant Singh, JE Gurmail Singh, and Store Keeper Nirmal Singh were suspended, and police action was initiated against them and the involved trader.

emphasized that regardless of rank or seniority, no officer will be exempt from accountability if found guilty of negligence or corruption in their duties. “The highest standards of integrity and performance will be expected from all officials, and swift action will be taken against anyone who fails to meet these expectations”, he added.
