On addition to the mandated task of securing the international border & securing the sence of securityamong the border population, BSF made sincere efforts to reunite the lost person to his family members.

On July 11, 2024, at approximately 8:15 PM, an Indian national named Md Sajid Ali, son of Alamdin and resident of Village Khurgan, PS Kairana, District Shamli (UP), was found near the Border Fence in the AOR of BOP Khanpur Ex 55 Bn BSF by BSF troops. Md Sajid Ali had come to Punjab with a group of laborers from Uttar Pradesh to work in the ongoing sowing of paddy saplings. During questioning, it was discovered that he was partially feeble-minded.

Md Sajid Ali disclosed that he had become stranded and wandered towards the border area, mistaking the floodlights for a village or town.

The BSF contacted the local police station, PS Kairana, in District Shamli, UP. The sarpanch of Village Khurgan was contacted to verify the credentials of the apprehended individual. The sarpanch confirmed that Md Sajid Ali was partially feeble-minded and had been missing from his home for the past three months. The BSF then contacted his brother, Mazid Ali, and asked him to come to Police Station Khui Khera to retrieve his brother.

On July 14, 2024, at approximately 11:30 AM, in a noble deed, the BSF handed over the lost person to his brother, Majid Ali, at Police Station Khui Khera in the presence of police and BSF personnel.
