CHANDIGARH LOKSABHA SEAT COUNTING TO BE HELD AT CHANDIGARH ENGG. COLLEGE, DISTT. MAGISTRATE ISSUED PROHIBITORY ORDERS

For Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency, Dr. Vijay Namdeorao Zade, Chief Electoral Officer has confirmed that the counting of votes will occur at the Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology (CCET), Sector 26, as per the procedure laid down by the Election Commission of India.

Within the CCET campus, two halls have been designated for the counting process, accommodating a total of 42 counting tables. This setup has been strategically designed to handle the counting process effectively, with an anticipated 15 rounds of counting.

(SUBHEAD)The Chief Electoral Officer, Chandigarh has personally overseen the preparations at the centre to ensure that all arrangements are in place for a systematic counting process. Each hall is equipped with necessary infrastructure and security arrangements to facilitate a transparent and orderly process.

It is further advised that fool proof arrangements have been ensured at the Counting centre at CCET Sector 26 , Chandigarh. Only Officials on Poll duty and Authorised Counting agents are allowed inside or near the counting centre as per guidelines.

Any unauthorised gathering near the counting centre will be dealt with strictly under relevant provisions of law.In addition to the regular counting tables, special provisions have been made for the Electronically Transmitted Postal Ballot System (ETPBS), Postal Ballots. Six tables have been specifically allocated for the counting of ETPBS ballots, ensuring efficient and secure handling of postal ballots to maintain the integrity of the election process.

The counting of postal ballots will commence at 8:00 AM, with the ballots being counted initially, followed by the votes polled in the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) at 8.30 am.

All political parties have been duly informed about the location of the counting centre, and meticulous arrangements have been made at CCET to ensure a smooth and efficient counting process.

Proper sitting arrangements have been made for the counting team, agents, and candidates.

MEDIA CENTRE SET UP

Additionally, there will be a Media Centre, a Communication Room, and a room for the observer.

To maintain the security and integrity of the process, no mobile phones or other electronic devices, such as smartwatches, will be allowed inside the Counting  Room.

DISTT. MAGISTRATE ISSUED PROHIBTORY ORDER

It is hereby intimated that prohibitory orders u/s 144 CRPC by District Magistrate Chandigarh are in force. It is advised that after the counting process Is over, no victory procession can be organised/taken out without prior permission of the competent authority.

Any gathering of supporters without permission will be liable for action under 188 IPC
