YOUTH BEATEN TO DEATH FOLLOWING THE SACRILEGE INCIDENT

A youth was beaten to death at Bandala village in Arif ke block of this district following a sacrilege incident that took place at the village Gurdwara.

As per the information, the incident took place at around 2.30 pm yesterday afternoon when a youth identified as Bakshish Singh (19) son of Lakhwinder Singh resident of Talli Gulam village, reportedly entered the Gurdwara premises and allegedly tore some pages of “Sri Guru Granth Sahib”.

(SUBHEAD)Later, the accused then tried to flee from the spot but he was nabbed by the people. As soon as the news was spread, several villagers reached the spot. The agitated villagers along with members of various religious organizations started thrashing the accused due to which he was badly injured and later succumbed to the injuries.

Senior police officials including SSP Saumya Mishra, SP (D) Randhir Kumar, DSP (City) Sukhwinder Singh besides others also reached the village following the incident

Meanwhile, the police lodged an FIR against Bakshish Singh under section 295-A at Arif ke police station on the basis of the complaint lodged by Lakhvir Singh Chairman Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Committee (FIR No. 24 Dated 04.05.2024).
